Claude Skills for Startup Valuation

Three Claude skills for valuation assumptions, comparable-company research and dilution scenarios, with editable templates and a priced-round calculator.

A practical workflow for the next decision

A valuation conversation often begins with a number and ends with an argument about the number. A more useful starting point is the purpose of the valuation, the date, the financing terms and the evidence behind the assumptions. This toolkit helps you build that record before presenting a range.

The pack includes three skills, a comparable-company evidence sheet, a valuation decision memo and a simple priced-round dilution calculator. It is built for founders preparing a discussion and analysts checking a model. The output should make assumptions easier to inspect; it should never present an AI-generated estimate as an independent professional valuation.

The same headline valuation can imply different economics when option pools, debt, liquidation preferences or convertible instruments differ. Keep enterprise value, equity value, pre-money and post-money value separate. This pack places those definitions next to the calculation so that comparisons do not silently change meaning.

How to work through the pack

01

Define what is being valued and why: a fundraising discussion, scenario analysis or internal planning exercise. Record the valuation date, currency, fully diluted share count and the actual information available.

02

Select methods that the evidence can support. A young company without stable revenue may not support a conventional revenue multiple. A discounted cash-flow model should expose how much of its result comes from distant assumptions and terminal value.

03

Build a comparable set with dated sources. Keep public trading multiples separate from private financing headlines, and distinguish enterprise value from equity value. Record the period and definition of the metric rather than mixing trailing revenue with forward ARR.

04

Present a range and a bridge from enterprise to equity value where relevant. Then model the financing mechanics separately: new investment, ownership dilution, option-pool timing and any instruments requiring specialist treatment.

Bring the right inputs

  • Valuation purpose, date, currency, current cap table and financing documents
  • Historical actuals, forecast assumptions and the available comparable evidence
  • Proposed raise amount and any option-pool or convertible-instrument terms

Try this first

Use startup-valuation-brief on this model and cap table. Identify which valuation methods are supportable, create a dated assumptions ledger and explain the largest sources of uncertainty. Then use priced-round-dilution to compare the supplied term scenarios. Do not invent market multiples or treat a SAFE cap as a current valuation.

Install a skill and run one task

  1. Download the pack, or choose one individual skill ZIP from the directory below.
  2. Upload that skill ZIP using the skill settings available in your Claude account. Keep the skill folder and its supporting files together. For Claude Code, place the skill folder in your project’s .claude/skills/ directory.
  3. Share the context, evidence and output you need. Ask Claude to use the selected skill, then review its answer before acting on it.

You can also attach selected Markdown instructions to a Claude Project as reference material. Account features and upload limits can differ; the archive includes a README and the complete skill folders so the instructions remain usable.

03

Startup valuation brief

Review the work, then tell the story

This is an analytical preparation toolkit, not an appraisal, fairness opinion or investment recommendation.

The included calculator covers a simple priced equity round without convertibles, fees, warrants or pool changes. It stops rather than silently approximating those instruments.

Once the evidence and conclusions are reviewed, turn them into a page brief: one main point, the supporting facts, the visual you need and the source notes. Oria helps turn that brief, rough layout or sketch into professional slides. It is the presentation layer; your reviewed analysis remains the source of truth.
