Frequently asked questions
How do I install a Claude skill?
Download the pack as a zip and unzip it so each skill keeps its own folder with its SKILL.md file. In Claude, open your profile menu, go to Settings, then Skills under Customize. Choose Add, then Upload a skill, and drag one SKILL.md file into the upload window. Repeat for each skill you want, then open it in the Skills list and make sure the switch beside it is on.
What is the difference between a Claude skill and a prompt?
A prompt is the instruction you give Claude inside one conversation, and it applies only to that task. A skill is a reusable instruction package that Claude applies whenever you call it, so the method and the output standard stay consistent without you re-specifying them each time.
Where can I use these skills?
The packs are plain SKILL.md files, so they work anywhere Claude reads uploaded instructions. The main route is Settings, then Skills, in Claude itself. The earlier packs also document adding the same .md files to a Claude project as Project Knowledge, where Claude reads them in every conversation inside that project. The Claude Code agent pack is built for the Claude Code skills directory, because that is where a subagent can read a repository and hand files between steps.
Do the skill packs cost anything?
No. Every pack on this page downloads as a single zip, free and with no signup. You still need your own Claude account to run them.
Do I need to install every skill in a pack?
No. Each skill works on its own, so you can upload one folder, one stage of a workflow, or the whole set. Most people start with the two or three skills that map to the work in front of them and add the rest as they need them.
Can I edit a skill after I download it?
Yes. A skill is a plain Markdown file, so you can open SKILL.md in any text editor, change the steps, the questions it asks, or the output format, and upload your edited version instead. Reviewing the instructions before you turn a skill on is worth the two minutes anyway.
